UNIFORM UPDATE: BOTTOMS LAUNCHING AUGUST 2025
Beginning in the 2025–26 school year, we will roll out phase one of our new uniforms. In this phase, we will launch new bottoms, offering students a choice of skorts, sports shorts, smart shorts, and joggers designed for comfort, inclusivity, and the Singapore climate.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who participated in the uniform testing process. Whether you joined focus groups, attended feedback sessions, or tested fabrics and fits, your input has been essential in helping us shape the next iteration of SAS uniforms.
You Said, We Did
You said comfort and quality matter most. | We did multiple rounds of fabric testing to ensure breathability, durability, and ease of movement. |
You said white shirts are too difficult to keep clean over time. | We plan to introduce division-specific colored tops using our SAS brand colors, which not only address cleanliness and long-term wear but also support student safety and safeguarding. |
You said the fit and proportions of our uniform bottoms don’t work for a wide range of body types. | We did multiple rounds of testing and tailoring adjustments to ensure a better, more inclusive fit across all divisions. |
You said uniforms should reflect the diversity and individuality of our students. | We did a complete design rethink guided by our uniform philosophy—focused on inclusivity, flexibility, and belonging. |
You said sizing and fit needed improvement. | We did prototype testing with students across divisions to get the fit just right. |
Why Uniform Bottoms First? We’re launching our uniforms in two phases. In this first phase, we will launch uniform bottoms because they received the clearest and most consistent feedback across all divisions. They were easier to prototype and adjust quickly, and we’re confident they’re ready for rollout.
Tops, however, require a bit more time. Based on the feedback, we’re refining fabrics and reworking fits cuts and colors to better suit a wider range of preferences. We’re committed to getting this right—and that means taking a bit more time. We're aiming for new tops to be available in January 2026.
Uniform Bottoms Options:
In keeping with our “dress for your day” philosophy, we are offering four versatile bottom options that can be paired with any SAS top, allowing students to mix and match based on comfort, activity, and personal preference: skorts, smart shorts, sports shorts, and joggers.
These options are designed to give students more flexibility and comfort throughout their day, whether they are in class, during recess, or playing a sport. With these choices, students can express their individuality while ensuring they have the appropriate wear for their activities.
Dress for Your Day As we make this transition, we’re embracing the idea of “dress for your day.” This means students may pair any top with any SAS uniform bottom—providing greater flexibility. Whether they’re heading into the classroom, the lab, the art studio, or the field, students will have the freedom to dress in a way that suits their activities and expresses their individuality—within the guidelines of our uniform philosophy.
Repurposing Plan: We are currently engaging student sustainability clubs focused on sustainability to research and develop a repurposing plan for our current uniforms so they don’t end up in landfills.
What’s Next? We are continuing our uniform journey with care and intention. Here's a look at what's ahead:
May 2025: Get down to the Eagle Stop and try out the new bottoms for the right sizes so you can place your orders online
Spring 2025: Launch a uniform recycling program
August 2025: New bottoms available for purchase
January 2026: New tops available for trying out sizing
We’re working hard to make sure our uniforms reflect the SAS community—thoughtfully designed, inclusive, and made to move with you. Thank you for walking this journey with us!
